About Me and My "Computer-Assisted Language Learning" Course
My name is Stephanie Cohen and I am participating this year in Masa Israel Teaching Fellows (MITF) in Rehovot. In this role, I will be working with students in grades 3-6 at Hadarim elementary school in small groups to help them improve their English language skills. My plan for after the completion of MITF is to make aliyah and become an English teacher in an Israeli elementary school. Consequently, I have decided to embark on the English teacher certification program through Levinsky College of Education. I have always loved working with children and, in university, I majored in social work and developed a strong passion for working with underprivileged youth. These factors along with my love for Israel have inspired my current career aspirations.
As part of the Levinsky program, I will taking a course in computer-assisted language learning. I am very interested in learning about various ways in which to effectively integrate today's technology with lessons for teaching English as a foreign language. I look forward to using my creativity and exploring new, fun, and most importantly, engaging educational tools for young students.
